I'm Rob Koenig


A senior at Northern Vermont University-Lyndon (formerly Lyndon State College) and the morning meteorologist at WAGM-TV in Presque Isle, ME, I anticipate graduating in May of 2022 with a B.S. in Atmospheric Sciences and an A.S. in Electronic Journalism Arts. I have been gaining job experience in the field before graduation to help hone my skills and better myself as an on air personality and meteorologist. I am also skilled in customer service work as well as website coding. Originally from Maine, I've been passionate about weather since I was a little kid. Morning Meteorologist
WAGM-TV | Presque Isle, ME
Jan 2022 - Present

I am the morning meteorologist for the number 1 rated morning show in Presque Isle. I am responsible for putting together daily forecasts and effectively communicating the day's weather to get peoples' mornings started and help them plan for the day. I have been able to expand my skills as a meteorologist and communicator in this position. I have also been responsible for putting together my own feature piece called the County Ag Report. This series focuses on different agricultural stories from across the county and highlights different people who are key community players in the county. This has helped me imporve my multimedia jounalism skills as it has required me to put together packages on a deadline.


Fill-In Meteorologist
Local 22 (WVNY) & Local 44 (WFFF) | Burlington, VT

I was a fill-in meteorologist for the station while they looked for a new weekend meteorologist. My responsibilities included putting together my own forecasts, and forecasting for the 6:30, 10, and 11 PM shows weekend evenings. During this experience I learned how to use Barron Lynx to give accurate weather presentations as well as update social media when necessary to warn about severe weather.


Forecaster / Intern
Pine Tree Weather | Maine

I was responsible for putting together forecasts for the entire state of Maine. Daily Facebook posts as well as website discussion posts were expected to keep the 4,000+ followers of Pine Tree Weather informed. Facebook posts included a short term 36 hour forecast detailing what conditions and temperatures to expect during that time. Website discussion posts involved more lenghty and in depth discussion about the long term forecast (3-7 day) as well as use of multiple model data sources to create my own forecast.


On-Air Meteorologist
News 7 / NewsLINC | Lyndonville, VT

I was a meteorologist for both Facebook and Live 5:30 pm newscasts on the award winning News7/NewsLINC. This included determining my own forecast, along with making graphics using WSI Max. I created the current on-air graphics package used by the entire weather team.


Video Instruction Center Attendant

I was responsible for the checkout of equipment from our video instruction center. This entailed making sure students have the equipment they need before going out on a shoot, as well as making sure the equipment is still in good shape when it is brought back. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, it was also my responsibility to maintian the cleaniness of the video insruction center and its equipment, which included wiping down and disinfecting surfaces and equipment.


Resident Assistant

I was responsible for overseeing multiple suites in my residence hall. I was required to hold 2 educational programs a year, as well as participate in 4 all halls a year. I had a duty night once a week, as well as a "power weekend" every 4 weeks. This leadership role on campus required my life to be in the spotlight as my residents and the community expect a certain standard.

I was responsible for positioning Cashiers and supporting them by expediting price checks, approving Point of Sale transactions and markdowns for mainline registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, and Special Services. I provided first level escalation for customer issues and assist in the supervision, coaching and training of other Front End Associates by participating in the training of new Cashiers and utilizing all available tools to coach and develop other Cashiers. During this time I also took the initiative to learn the customer service desk to be a better team player and more skilled associate.


Theatre Technician

I am experienced in using the provided equipment in the Alexander Twilight Theatre. I was responsible for troubleshooting problems that occur in both the theatre and other rooms throughout campus. I was also responsible for communicating with talent and providing assistance to them when needed.
